Annual Alumni Meet – December 05, 2015

Teerthanker Mahaveer University hosted the Annual Alumni Meet for its Alumni of various colleges and departments on December 05, 2015. It was inaugurated by the Chief guest Mr Devadesh Sharma, the Registrar, Dr M.P Singh, the Dean of Students’ Welfare, Mr Firasat Zaidi, the Incharge of the Alumni Relationship Cell. To motivate the alumni, principals and senior faculties from colleges were also present. The meet started traditionally with the lighting of the lamp followed by the blessings of Goddess Sarswati.

Chief Guest in his address to the alumni acknowledged and praised the achievements of TMU alumni in all walks of life. He motivated and wished them success in their life. He invited the alumni to provide the constructive feedback which would help the university to work on the improvements continually. Also, he suggested the alumni to become the registered members of the TMU Alumni Association.

Dean of Students’ Welfare informed the audience about the large number of alumni who belong to the university and advised the alumni to become the active partners in the university’s progress. He convincingly put his point that alumnus force is viewed differently by the institutions since they have crossed the fence and experiencing a different phase of life, therefore, their attention and inputs are very important.

Earlier, being the incharge of the alumni affairs, Mr Firasat Zaidi welcomed the alumni who had gathered from various colleges and batches. He presented the agenda and informed the audience about legal formation of TMU Alumni Association. Mr Zaidi elaborately pointed out Alumni’s contribution towards the growth of their Alma Mater and also emphasized the need for further strengthening the linkage between the Alumni and its current students.

Mr Satyendra Arya, the current president, read out the bye-laws of TMU alumni association and highlighted the objectives of coming together. He also introduced the outgoing office bearers and advised the re-election of a proper body with appropriate representation of alumni from all across. Election of the new office bearers in the presence of the Chief Guest followed.

The alumni shared their views on the university and showed gratitude for the journey. The current students helped in collecting the feedback through the prescribed form. Number of commendable suggestions and proposals came up, new initiatives such as whatsapp group and newsletter was proposed to start soon.

The meet concluded with vote of thanks followed by networking high tea. The event was a successful beginning in reconnecting with the Alumni.
