TMDCRC’s Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology celebrated “World Radiography Day” on 14th of November 2018, TMDCRC is listed as one of the best dental colleges and has almost all the concerning, allied departments in the field of dental combined with a research centre too.
8th November marks the anniversary of the discovery of x-radiation by Sir Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1985, effectively laying the foundation for the discipline of Radiology on this day 123 years ago. As the 8th of November was observed as a holiday due to Diwali, the celebration was held on the 14th of November 2018.
The program was attended by Vice-Chancellor Prof. R. K. Mudgal, Joint Registrar- Governance Dr. Aditya Sharma, Principal TMDCRC Dr. Manish Goyal, along with the heads of all the departments of the college, at the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology.
The program was a commemoration ceremony of 123 years of the great discovery of Radiology. Sir Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen and other pioneer’s contribution was reminisced on this day. A short celebration was done and free pamphlets elucidating the facts and myths associated with radiation were distributed to all the visiting dental OPD patients.
An e-poster competition was organized for the undergraduate and postgraduate students on 13th November. The winners of the competition were felicitated with a memento by Principal TMDCRC Dr. Manish Goyal on this day. Apart from that, a special 20 % discount was given for all intraoral and extraoral radiographs on this day.
