Every year 15thseptember is celebrated as the Engineer’s day in India to give a tribute to the greatest Indian Engineer, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarya who also received India’s highest honour, the Bharat Ratna in 1955. He holds some remarkable engineering constructions in his name. He was the chief engineer of the Mysore state, Vrindavan Garden, Krishna Raja Sagara dam etc. He was also the chief designer of the food protection system for the city of Hyderabad.

In his honour, the Engineer’s day was celebrated in FOE this year with a great enthusiasm. On the inauguration of the program, lamp lighting ceremony was done by the honourable dignitaries of TMU, Prof. R. K. Mudgal (Hon’ble Vice Chancellor), Prof. P. D. Kaushik ( Respected ProVice Chancellor), Prof. K. K. Pandey (Respected Dean Academics & Director International affairs) and Prof. Ajay Ruhela ( Respected Director, Faculty Of Engineering) and other members of FoE followed by cake cutting ceremony. Students organised various events on this occasion. The main events that attracted the dignitaries and audience the most were Project Exhibition, Robot Exhibition and Technical Buzz.

Different departments of FoE participated in the project exhibition. Some of the major attractions of the project exhibition were differential gear, multi-axis trolley, air pump, mobile detector, changing shoes. VC Sir, Pro VC Sir and Director sir took keen interest in understanding the different concepts involved in Gear working, wind energy conversion, walking energy conversion and appreciated the student for their fabulous work. The team of the mechanical and electrical engineering departments secured top 3 positions in this event.

The Robot exhibition included robots like obstacle detector, line follower, and clapper robots etc. which revealed the utilities of the artificial intelligence into various perspective of humanrace including problem statements. In this event, teams from EC and EE departments secured top 3 positions.

To enhance the knowledge of Engineers from FOE, Technical buzz was organized by the students which was conducted in two stages. In the prelims stage i.e., the first stage , total 56 teams participated from various department . The prelims buzzer round was conducted interdepartmentally in order to select top 8 teams with one team from each branch for the final round. The final round was conducted on the other day in which top 8 teams participated. The physics department secured the first position with EC and ME on the second and third position respectively.

Apart from the department level teams, audience also participated and goodies were given to winners. At the end DJ bash was organized for the students , everyone enjoyed alot . All the programs were well organized and properly planned.
