International Conference on “Emerging Trends in Engineering and Technology”
College of
Engineering, Teerthanker Mahaveer University organized a two day International
Conference on “Emerging trends in Engineering and Technology” on 6th
and 7th April 2012. This two days international conference on
Emerging trends in Engineering and Technology was a premier gathering of
academicians, engineers, scientists, technologists, industrialists, students and
others interested in sharing ideas, knowledge and experiences. The conference
provided an international forum for researchers to exchange of ideas in recent
advances on various aspects of theories, analysis, experimentation and
computational methods in engineering and technology.
550 abstracts from
different countries around the world were received. These submissions were sent
to reviewers for review. Finally 135 full length papers were accepted for the
conference from Malaysia, Norway, Bahrain, Nigeria, Sultanate of Oman, Egypt,
Iran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and India.
Honorable
Chancellor, Shri Suresh Jain declared
the conference open on 6th April, 2012. In his inaugural address he
inspired participating researchers, academicians, and professionals to live
conscientiously with scientific and modern outlook without missing true
Indians. Honorable Group Vice Chairman, Shri Manish Jain expressed his
best wishes for the success of the conference. Prof. N. K. Joshi, Conference
Chair and Director, College of Engineering introduced the theme of the
conference. Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof R. K. Mittal welcomed the
delegates and discussed the relevance of such gathering in terms of sharing the
knowledge and experiences in the fields of Engineering and Technology.
Prof M.M Pant
who is widely regarded as a leading expert in the area of Computer Engineering
and Information Technology delivered the keynote address. Prof. Pant has been
the Pro-Vice Chancellor at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU),
Senior Faculty at IIT – Kanpur, MLNR Engineering College and Faculty at
University of Western Ontario-Canada .He broadly discussed the emerging areas of
Engineering & Technology and mentioned their utilization in making Indian
technology vast, deep and research oriented.
Mr. Kapil
Lakhtakia, Former Vice President of IBM and Mahindra Satyam,
presently working as Consultant for World Bank and Mr. Sanjiva Dubey, former
CEO Bhilwara Infotech and President of Raffles Software Singapore, presently
Asia Pacific Service Delivery Executive of IBM graced the occasion as special
guests.
Towards the end of
the Inaugural Session, proceedings’ of the conference carrying 135 short listed
papers was released by Hon’ble Chancellor, TMU and other dignitaries.

Technical
Sessions:
The two days
conference included six parallel tracks. On 6th April there were 3
parallel tracks in computer engineering, mechanical engineering and electronics.
On 7th April again 3 parallel tracks in civil engineering, electrical
engineering and computer engineering at 3 different venues were scheduled.

In valedictory
session Prof N.K. Joshi, Conference Chair presented the report of the technical
sessions and summed up the two days conference. The conference provided a good
opportunity for experts to familiarize themselves with a broad spectrum of
recent trends and issues in the wide field of engineering and technology. The
conference also raised a potential for collaboration between institutions and
organizations.
