TMMC&RC held a CME (Continuing Medical Education) organised by the Department of Radio-diagnosis, Musculoskeletal Radiology –MSK RAD 2019 at TMU, Moradabad on 8th November 2019. The CME was marked on the occasion of International Day of Radiology. It’s theme revolved around Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Review of Basics with Live Demonstration.            Dr Rajendra Kumar Srivastava, Professor of Radiodiagnosis was the guest speaker for the CME. The speakers talked and compared Ultrasound (USG) and MRI where it concluded that Ultrasound should be the first modality of choice in any case of Musculoskeletal Injury as it is cost effective and safe.

Prof. Najmul Huda (Professor & Head, Orthopaedics) gave a clinician’s perspective on the topic & how radiologists aid in the diagnosis of pathological infections for orthopaedists.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. R.K. Mudgal (Hon’ble Vice Chancellor), Mr. Abhishek Kapoor (Director Administration), Dr R.K. Srivastava (Professor, Radiodiagnosis), Dr S.K. Jain (Vice Principal), Prof. Ajay Pant (Medical Superintendent), Prof. Najmul Huda (Additional Dean Academics), Prof. Shruti Chandak (Organising Chairperson) and Dr Ankur Malhotra (Organising Secretory).

Prof. Shruti Chandak (Professor & Head, Radio-diagnosis) explained the Role of MRI in musculoskeletal imaging and reason for it being the gold standard investigation. Accompanying to the guest speakers, MBBS students of TMMC&RC also participated and presented lectures on anatomy of the peripheral nerves & wrist joints in the CME. Live demonstration of a normal anatomy of shoulder & knee joints was conducted by Dr R. K. Srivastava, wrist joint and hand by Dr Ankur Malhotra and major peripheral nerves by Dr Arjit Aggarwal.

The guest speaker Dr. R. K. Srivastava also gave a special lecture on the basic finances for doctors. CME was followed by   a gala dinner in the evening at MB Greens Clark’s Inn which was graced by faculty and residents of various departments. Performances were given by residents of department of Radiodiagnosis which were appreciated and applauded by everyone present.
