Research and consultancy are a priority area for the university. The campus subscribes
to the EBSCO database providing access to around 7,455 journals in different disciplines for
full text research articles and sector specific reports. The university is committed to forging
tie ups and collaborations with national and international institutions for teaching, research and
exchange of faculty and students to enhance its research profile and standards. Recently, in association
with Consultancy Development Centre, GOI, New Delhi, the College of Engineering has identified projects
for which consultancy
services shall be provided on various managerial and technical issues confronting the local industries.
Financial incentives are given to encourage students and faculty to contribute towards research and participate
in national and international conferences and seminars. Large number
of publication of quality research papers and industry-sponsored research projects have been undertaken by the faculty.
The university offers Ph.D. program in engineering,management, pharmacy, education, social work, law, home science, medical science and nursing which is likely
to be extended to other areas of study as well. Already 80 students have been enrolled in Ph.D. program
TMU encourage professionals working in corporate and government institutions to undertake
joint research studies. The university ordinance governing the Ph.D. Program is in consonance with the latest guidelines of the UGC that include i) screening through TMU research aptitude test (TRAT) ii) submission of synopsis and its presentation before the research committee iii) course work iv) publication of minimum two research papers in peer reviewed journals from the research work v)
pre-submission presentation vi) oral defense after receiving positive report from external examiners.
