Teerthanker Mahaveer University organised a Two Day workshop on ‘Research Methodology’ from 29th to 30th March, 2013. The workshop was inaugurated by Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Rakesh Mudgal in the presence of Prof. B.S. Nagi, the resource person, and Prof. K.K. Pandey, Director-International Affairs. Prof. Ravinder Jain, Dr. M.P. Singh, and Mr. Narender Raghav welcomed the guests by presenting bouquets to Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.S. Nagi, and Prof. K.K. Pandey, respectively.

In his inaugural address, Prof. Rakesh Mudgal emphasised upon the motive behind this workshop as to improve the research quality by the faculty and research scholars of the university. He mentioned that in the present day context the experts and researchers should interact and deliberate more often to explore new dimensions of the research activity. Prof. Mudgal inspired the participants to acquire deeper insight in to the research process and techniques during the workshop which in turn shall improve the quality of research. He further mentioned that a detailed study of good quality research journals, papers, and books can give direction to research with more clarity and precision, thereby providing meaningful solution to a problem improving the quality life of the society at large. .

Prof. K.K. Pandey highlighted the social relevance of research and expressed his best wishes for the success of the workshop.

Prof. B.S. Nagi, Executive Director, Social Research Organisation, and a Consultant to National Institute of Health & Family Welfare, Delhi and many other organisations of repute shared his experience and vision of research during two days of the workshop. He took up issues related to literature survey, questionnaire formation, data collection, hypothesis formulation, and thesis writing techniques.

A large number of research scholars and faculty members of the university participated in the programme. In the valedictory session, the participants requested for organisation of more of such events. At the end, the workshop co-ordinator Mr. Jaiprakash Bansal, Dy. Registrar thanked all the guests, participants, and staff for making this workshop a grand success.
