As this is the commencement year of the University Polytechnic it was thought that a strong foundation of culture and innovation be kept at the outset that will instill the culture of zeal and energy in the students of Polytechnic. For this the college organized the annual youth fest ‘Spardha’ from May 16th, 2011 to May 20th, 2011. ‘Spardha’ as the name suggests was full of spirit and vigour encompassing a host of cultural, learning and sporting events. The event was inaugurated in the building of University Polytechnic by the Honorable Chancellor, Group Vice Chairman, Vice Chancellor, and Registrar of the University. Inauguration was a huge triumph whereby the students had prepared a caravan of events that were to take place in the following cultural week. On other days, competitions of singing, dancing, skits, rangoli making, mehndi, poster making brought out the creative talent of students, while the learning competitions of debate, extempore, poetry and essay writing led to the intellectual development of the students. The participation in indoor and outdoor sporting events of carom, chess, table tennis, badminton, cricket, soccer, kabbadi, volley ball, basket ball was huge. The whole week was a week of festivity, joy and learning, and gaining. On May 20th, 2011 the finale of the cultural fest took place where the students showcased a wonderful show in the University Auditorium. The lively items presented by students including solo dances, duet dances, classical and salsa dances, skit and fashion show mesmerized all the dignitaries present at the event. The winners of various events held during the week were acknowledged and awarded by the Honorable Registrar and Director (International Affairs).
