Teerthanker Mahaveer University Conferred Doctorate Degree to the Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam!

Sonu Nigam, a famous name in the Bollywood music industry, has been a dear guest at Teerthanker Mahaveer University Moradabad on multiple occasions. But this time, on 24th March 2018, Teerthanker Mahaveer University conferred a Doctorate Degree to the Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam.

The university honored Nigam with the doctorate due to his immense contributions and workings in the music industry. Sonu has sung more than a hundred songs and has been a part of numerous charitable and live performances at various concerts.

TMU & Sonu Nigam share a past history, as he has also performed at TMU’s annual mega event ‘Rock On.’ ‘He’s been a student favourite, and his performance has been one of the memorable evenings,’ states Chancellor Shri Suresh Jain.

Rock On has housed other prominent music sensations like Sukhwinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Armaan Malik, etc., also at TMU.

TMU’s bond with Sonu Nigam has deepened more with him getting awarded a degree from TMU, as he has become a part of the TMU family.

Considering his love and respect for Chancellor Shri Suresh Jain & Group-Vice-Chairman Shri Manish Jain, last year in 2020,Sonu Nigam has sent a video message to the two lauding them and the university & TMU hospital for their humanitarian works in the distressing times of Covid.

Sonu Nigam & TMU are well-wishers of each other. TMU is proud to have a talented, kind artist like Sonu as part of the education hub. His philanthropist ideologies and humanitarian nature, and ideals immensely match the university’s goals and visions.
