A.M. Turaz, Sabnam Ali, and Nazar Bijnori Enchant at TMU’s Mushaira

Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), Moradabad, recently hosted an enchanting Mushaira that celebrated the power of poetry and cultural enrichment. The event aimed to foster students' writing skills and alleviate mental stress while encouraging self-expression through the timeless art of poetry. Known for its consistent efforts in promoting literature, TMU once again proved its commitment to cultural and academic development.

The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp-lighting in front of the statue of Goddess Saraswati. The Vice Chancellor of TMU, Prof. V.K. Jain, along with prominent poets A.M. TurazSabnam Ali, and Nazar Bijnori, participated in the inauguration. The Mushaira was inspired by the university's Executive Director, Mr. Akshat Jain, and organised under the coordination of Prof. M.P. Singh, Dean of Student Welfare.

Eminent Poets Leave a Lasting Impact

The session opened with Nazar Bijnori, who mesmerised the audience with his thought-provoking couplet:
"Kya bataun main tumko, mera yaar kaisa hai. Chand sa nahin hai wo, chand uske jaisa hai."
Every verse by Nazar Bijnori earned him resounding applause.

Sabnam Ali, the celebrated poetess from Ujjain, touched hearts with her poetic expressions:
"Dil agar pyaar ke hisse mein nahin aa sakta, Phir kisi doosre jumre mein nahin aa sakta."
Her call for preserving love and relationships earned standing ovations from the audience.

Mumbai-based poet, director, and lyricist A.M. Turaz, renowned for his works in films like Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, and Gangubai Kathiawadi, captivated the gathering. His profound lines, including:
"Meri takleef, mera gham, mera sadma pata chalta, Koi tera bichhadta toh tujhe mera pata chalta."
received endless rounds of applause. Turaz also entertained requests for his Bollywood songs, making the evening even more memorable.

TMU’s Efforts in Promoting Literature

Addressing the gathering, TMU Vice Chancellor Prof. V.K. Jain highlighted the university's initiatives to promote cultural and literary growth among students. The invited poets appreciated the efforts of TMU’s Honourable Chancellor, Mr Suresh Jain, and Group Vice Chairman, Mr Manish Jain, in providing a holistic academic and cultural experience.

Prof. M.P. Singh expressed gratitude and reiterated the importance of such linguistic events in enhancing students' expressive capabilities. He remarked, “Such programmes empower students with the confidence and skills to articulate themselves effectively in competitive environments.”

A Star-Studded Evening

The event saw enthusiastic participation from faculty and students of various TMU colleges, including the College of Paramedical Sciences, Physiotherapy, Nursing, and Dental College. Prominent attendees included Mr. Deepak Kumar MalikMs. Anchal, and Ms. Ritika, adding to the event's charm.

Through this Mushaira, TMU celebrated the richness of Urdu poetry and reinforced its dedication to nurturing literary and cultural excellence.
