Leadership Talk Series: Emotional Intelligence - A Path to Success
On January 24, 2023, Teerthanker Mahaveer University organised its 2nd talk of the Leadership Talk Series to share valuable insights on Emotional Intelligence - A Path to Success. The keynote speaker at the event was Ms Anuradha Chawla, an international keynote speaker and founder of Bbetter HR solutions. These talk series aim to develop interpersonal and communicative skills in students as well as to provide an opportunity to learn from passionate and committed experts.
As per the tradition of the university, the event started with a lamp-lighting ceremony in front of Maa Saraswati by the esteemed chief guests and keynote speaker. The session started with the welcome address by Dr. Manjula Jain, Dean, Academics, Teerthanker Mahaveer University. She described why these leadership sessions are necessary for students. She also explained the VUCA World (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity). Dr. Aditya Sharma, Registrar, TMU, talked about the facts of why we need to be emotionally intelligent and briefly explained the importance of it.
Performance coach Anuradha Chawla throws light on her personal life and motivates students to find the purpose of their life. She said Emotional Intelligence can affect us in many ways like effectiveness, influence, decision-making, interpersonal relations, teamwork, etc. Emotions are feedback mechanisms, they are like signals that let us know if something is right or wrong. She told that true happiness lies in knowing, accepting and celebrating the self. She also suggested students to make their Linkedin profile and connect with prominent professionals.
Prof. R.N Krishnia, CTLD Director, said that understanding emotions and controlling them to a level is very important. The event was hosted by Ms. Neha Anand, Assistant Director - Academics, TMU. The insightful session ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Geentanshu Dawar, Convenor, TMU-IIC and facilitating the keynote speaker, chief guests and all the college principals. Later on, students asked their queries from the keynote speaker and got fruitful answers.
With the help of this Leadership Talk Series, academics and businesses have established fruitful ties that will provide students with the chance to learn new skills and interact with great leaders.
