Leadership Talk Series: Session on Constitutionalism and Education System

Teerthanker Mahaveer University organised another inspiring session of the Leadership Talk Series on Constitutionalism and Education System with Hon'ble Justice Pradeep Kumar Shrivastava, Former Judge of Allahabad High Court, & Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Law Commission, Lucknow. The motive of the session is to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the ground realities of the world.


The event started with the welcome address of Prof. Dr Harbansh Dixit, Dean, College of Law and Legal Studies. He explained how values and principles of the constitution play important role in the education system. Afterward, he briefly introduced the guest speaker Hon'ble Justice Pradeep Kumar Shrivastava and told about his valuable contribution to the field of academics and judiciary. He also informed how legal practitioners are benefited from his knowledgeable journals and research works.


Dr Manjula Jain, Dean (Academics) and Convenor of the Leadership Talk Series talked about the importance of constitutionalism in the education system. He conveyed that education is the backbone of our society and the constitution provides the framework for this education. Teerthanker Mahaveer University is committed to fulfill the need for holistic education in order to make students the responsible citizens of the nation


During the keynote address, Hon'ble Justice Pradeep Kumar Shrivastava conveyed how law education is relevant for everyone whether one belongs to medicine, engineering or any other discipline. He spoke about the key points of the New Education Policy (NEP 2020) and focused on imparting knowledge about the rich cultural heritage and freedom movement of India. He also talked about various social issues of society and basic laws & fundamental duties for the citizens.


While appreciating the efforts of the university in organising such a Leadership Talk Series he pointed out the responsibility of the educational institution for eliminating the differences in society. He said that interaction is the best way of learning. He motivated students and faculties to make the most use of their voting rights in order to strengthen the democratic process of the country. He also emphasized environmental sustainability by encouraging students to plant more trees.


At last, students asked their queries during the question and answer session and got fruitful answers. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Aditya Sharma, Registrar, Teerthanker Mahaveer University. He thanked Hon'ble Justice Pradeep Kumar Shrivastava for sharing his expertise with the students and appreciated the efforts of all the members of the organising committee. The event was successfully hosted by Ms Neha Anand, Assistant Director (Academics).
