Rath Yatra Held at Teerthanker Mahaveer University
TMU Jinalay Pariwar, along with Mahila Digambar Jain Society, Digambar Jain Society, Ramganga Jain Society, and Shamli Jain Society, organised a grand Ratha Yatra (chariot procession) at the Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) campus, marking a significant event for the Jain community. To witness this spiritual celebration, hundreds of devotees gathered from various regions, including Amroha, Sambhal, Rampur, Bijnor, and Udham Singh Nagar districts.
Spiritual Procession Led by Karmayogi Samarpansagar Maharaj and TMU Chancellor Family
The Yatra was led by the honourable Karmayogi Kshullakratn 105 Samarpansagar Maharaj, accompanied by TMU's Chancellor Suresh Jain, First Lady Veena Jain, GVC Manish Jain, Richa Jain, and Executive Director Akshat Jain, with the graceful presence of Jahnvi Jain. Jahnvi Jain had the privilege of offering the Jinvani (sacred scriptures) during the rituals, under the spiritual guidance of Karmayogi Samarpansagar Maharaj. The Chancellor's family was bestowed with the honour of pulling the chariot, symbolising their deep devotion.
Hundreds of Devotees Participate in the Grand Jain Rath Yatra
The Yatra commenced from the Jinalaya (Jain temple) within the campus. It made its way through the university grounds, covering important landmarks such as the Medical Hostels, Faculty Residences, Sant Bhawan, Sports Complex, FOE, CCSIT, Army Tank, Cricket Pavilion, and Administrative Block. After a journey of four hours, the Rath Yatra finally reached the Riddhi-Siddhi Bhawan.
Significant Presence of Jain Community Leaders and TMU Faculty in the Procession
Several notable figures from the Jain community were a part of the Rath Yatra, including Aman Jain who had the privilege of becoming Indra, and Anuek Jain, who portrayed the role of Kubera. Tarang Jain was honoured as the charioteer, while students and faculty members participated with equal fervour.
During the procession, devotees, dressed in white kurta-pyjamas and saffron dupattas, symbolised unity and devotion. The sight of the male devotees in traditional white and female devotees in saffron added to the visual grandeur of the event.
Cultural Performances and Devotional Songs Enliven the Rath Yatra at TMU
One of the highlights of the procession was the Shantidhara ceremony, where Manohar Lal Jain, Ravi Jain, and Sachin Jain had the opportunity to perform the first Shantidhara, followed by Pawan Jain and Aman Jain for the second. The spiritual atmosphere was further enriched by the enchanting performances of the students, showcasing cultural dances at various stalls set up throughout the campus.
Devotional songs such as "Udi Udi Kesariya...", "Baba Kundalpur Wale Ki Bhakti Karo Jhoom Ke…", and others echoed through the air, as women devotees engaged in traditional garba dances, enhancing the spiritual fervour of the event.
A Harmonious Blend of Tradition, Devotion, and Unity at TMU’s Rath Yatra
The event concluded at the Chancellor's residence, where all the devotees gathered for a community meal. The entire Rath Yatra was a harmonious blend of devotion, culture, and spirituality, leaving a lasting impression on the Jain community and the attendees.
The involvement of TMU faculty and students in this spiritual event, from the Rath procession to the cultural performances at various stalls, was remarkable, showcasing the unity and dedication of the entire university. This grand Rath Yatra on the TMU campus not only uplifted the spiritual environment but also highlighted the university's commitment to preserving and promoting cultural and religious traditions.
