TMU Hosted its Fourth Edition of the Vocabaddicts

Teerthanker Mahaveer University, one of the best private universities in India, is deeply committed to enriching students' education and overall growth. Recently, TMU held its fourth Vocabaddicts event, highlighting the university's focus on improving students' language abilities and communication skills. The event was organised by the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Development (CTLD).

Purpose of Vocabaddicts 4.0

The Vocabaddicts event demonstrated students' strong dedication to boosting their vocabulary and enhancing their English communication skills. Spearheaded by CTLD, the event aimed to equip students with essential vocabulary spanning various contexts, from professional to everyday communication.

Inception and Preparation

Months of meticulous preparation preceded the event, with CTLD trainers delving deep into research to compile a comprehensive document. This document, spanning 25 pages, comprised 1000 diverse vocabulary entries meticulously curated to cater to the multifaceted linguistic needs of students.

Screening and Quarter-Finals

The event witnessed immense participation, with 308 teams, totalling 924 students, registering for the competition. The initial Screening Round, held on April 6th, served as a litmus test for participants' language skills. Following this, 70 top-scoring teams advanced to the Quarter-Final Round, marked by intense competition and intellectual rigour.

Semi-finals and Grand Finale

April 12th marked the culmination of months of preparation, as the Semi-Finals and Grand Finale took place. Distinguished personalities, including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr V.K. Jain and Director-Student’s Welfare Prof. Dr M.P. Singh, graced the occasion, commending both the organisers and participants for their dedication and enthusiasm.

The Grand Finale witnessed a captivating display of linguistic skills, with 6 top teams competing for the coveted title. The event featured an array of engaging rounds, from buzzer segments to rapid-fire questions, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.

Celebrating Victory

Team Sunshine from Aadinath College of Education emerged as the winner, showcasing exemplary linguistic skills and teamwork. They were followed by Team Falcons from Shri Prem Prakash Memorial College and Team Vanguards from Kunthnath College of Education, securing second and third positions, respectively.
