TMU's Inter-school Volleyball Championship Showdown
October 20-22, 2022. TMIMT College of Physical Education, under TMU's “Grassroot Nurturing Programme,” recently organised a three-day Inter-school Volleyball Championship in the state-of-the-art indoor sports complex. The event witnessed the participation of 15 teams, all competing for the top spot in this exciting competition.
The Championship commenced with a welcome ceremony for the Chief Guest, A.K. Dubey, District Inspector of School, Moradabad. In his address, Mr Dubey emphasised the importance of physical fitness in students’ daily lives, sharing his own experiences to motivate and inspire the participants. He also highlighted the government's role in organising various sports activities at different levels to encourage players to reach their full potential. Using the example of Usain Bolt, Mr Dubey explained the significance of self-discipline, and perseverance, in a student’s life.
The tournament comprised 15 teams, and their coaches were felicitated with the memento. The tournament witnessed the participation of prestigious schools from Moradabad and nearby places, who showcased their skills in a three-day mega event. All the teams performed with great sportsmanship and enthusiasm, but the champion had to be one. Bal VidyaMandir, Sambhal, was declared the winner, while S.S. Children's Academy, Moradabad, and M.S Public School, Dhanaura secured the first and second runners-up positions, respectively. The principal of the top physical education college in UP, TMIMT College of Physical Education, Dr Manu Mishra, played a crucial role in organising the event. The tournament showcased an impressive display of sportsmanship, teamwork, and talent among the young players, with each team putting their best foot forward to claim the ultimate prize, added Dr Mishra.
TMU Registrar Dr Aditya Sharma commends the outstanding demonstration of teamwork and sportsmanship at the Inter-school Volleyball Championship, reflecting the university's unwavering dedication to achieving excellence in all areas, including athletics. The benign presence of Prof. Raghuvir Singh, Vice-Chancellor, and Dr Manjula Jain, Associate Dean of Academics, among others, made the event even more special. Other dignitaries present on the dice were Professor M.P Singh, Director of Student Welfare, etc.
The Grassroot Nurturing Programme has been a significant step towards nurturing young sports talents and creating a culture of sports in Moradabad.
