WORLD RADIOGRAPHY DAY

The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology celebrated "World Radiography Day" on 08 November 2019 at Teerthanker Mahaveer University's Dental College.

The day marks the anniversary of discovering one of the vital inventions, x-radiation by Sir Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, in 1985, effectively laying the foundation for the discipline of Radiology on this day 124 years ago. As 8th November was a holiday, the celebration was conducted on 14th November 2019.

The event witnessed the Vice-Chancellor, Professor R K Mudgal, Principal Dr. Manish Goyal, and all the heads of the nine dental departments as guests at the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology to commemorate 124 years of this great discovery.

A presentation on the domain pioneers was presented to enlighten the audience, followed by a short celebration to lighten the mood.

Free pamphlets elucidating the facts and myths associated with radiation were distributed to all the patients visiting the dental OPD on Sir Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen's day.

The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology organized an e-poster competition for the undergraduate and postgraduate students on 13th November. The prize winners were felicitated with a memento by the guest on this day.

A 20% discount was provided on all intraoral and extraoral radiographs taken up on this day as per Principal Prof (Dr) Manish Goyal's approval.
