World Radiography Day Celebration at Teerthanker Mahaveer University
Radiology, the ever-evolving field of medical imaging, took centre stage at Teerthanker Mahaveer University in a recent event aimed at delving into the latest trends and innovations. The gathering, organised by the College of Paramedical Sciences, one of the best paramedical colleges in India, was held under the institutional innovation cell banner on November 8th, 2023.
The objective of the event
The primary objective of the event was to explore the recent trends and innovations in the field of Radiology. In a world where medical technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace, keeping up with the changes is crucial for aspiring healthcare professionals.
Experts’ Guidance
Two distinguished experts led the charge in unravelling the mysteries of radiology. Prof. Rajul Rastogi, a seasoned professional from the Department of Radio Diagnosis at TMU, and Prof. Vijay Pratap Singh, the Head of the Department of Radio Diagnosis, lent their expertise to the event. Prof. Navneet Kumar, the Vice-Principal of the College of Paramedical Sciences at TMU, assumed the role of the moderator, ensuring the smooth flow of the proceedings. Priyanka Singh, the Head of the RIT Department, served as the convener, adding a personal touch to the event's organisation.
Students and faculty members of the RIT department actively participated in the event. This focus ensured that the information disseminated was tailored to meet the needs and interests of those directly involved in the study and practice of Radiological Imaging Techniques.
Highlights of the Event
The guest lecture, titled Healthcare Heroes, resonated with the unsung heroes in the field of radiology. Prof. Vijay Pratap Singh & Prof. Rajul Rastogi shared their expert reviews and opinions, highlighting the critical role played by radiologists and radiologic technologists in diagnosing and treating diseases.
The day was not just about lectures; it was a celebration of the invaluable contribution of healthcare heroes. A Rangoli competition added an artistic touch to the event, while poster presentations and board decorations showcased the significant contributions of radiology experts.
Technological advancements took centre stage through PowerPoint presentations, and a quiz competition injected a spirit of friendly competition. The event successfully honoured healthcare heroes and underscored their crucial role in advancing medical imaging and improving patient care.
The outcome of the Event
Students attending the event were poised to gain valuable insights into the recent advancements in the modality of radiology. The objective was not just to inform but to empower the next generation of healthcare providers with the knowledge that can shape the future of medical diagnostics.
The success of any event lies in meticulous planning. The Academic Activity Committee, comprising individuals like Mrs Priyanka Singh, Mr Raushan Kumar, Ms Mamta Verma, and others, played a pivotal role in orchestrating the various facets of the event seamlessly.
The event saw active participation from students across different programmes—Diploma, Bachelor, and Masters—in the RIT department. A total of 200 students and 15 faculty members contributed to the success of the day. The event at Teerthanker Mahaveer University proved to be a meaningful exploration of radiological trends. The active involvement of students and faculty, coupled with the insights shared by distinguished experts, made it a day well-spent in advancing knowledge and appreciation for the vital role played by healthcare heroes in the radiology field
