Antiragging Week 2024 Celebrations at TMMC&RC, Moradabad
Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College & Research Center (TMMC&RC), Moradabad, celebrated Anti ragging Week from 12th August to 18th August 2024, with an array of engaging and educational activities designed to raise awareness about ragging and its adverse effects. The events witnessed active participation from MBBS students across the batches of 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23.
Interactive Session on Ragging’s Impact
The week-long programme commenced with an interactive session for the MBBS Batch of 2022-23, led by Prof. (Dr.) Prithpal Singh Matreja, Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Pharmacology. During the session, Dr Matreja addressed the psychological and emotional toll of ragging, especially on students living far from home, and showcased impactful videos on the consequences and penalties for engaging in ragging.
Poster-Making Competition: Measures to Curb Ragging
The next activity was a Poster-Making Competition for the Batch of 2021-22. Participants presented creative ideas on strategies to prevent ragging. The competition was judged by:

- Prof. (Dr.) Navin K. Varma (Head of Forensic Medicine)
The posters were evaluated based on theme, clarity, and understanding of the topic.

An Essay Writing Competition was held for students of the 2020-21 and 2022-23 batches. The essays were assessed by experts from the Departments of Surgery and Pathology.
