Constitution Day 2024 Celebrated at TMMC&RC

 

Moradabad, 26th November 2024 – The Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College and Research Centre (TMMC&RC) celebrated Constitution Day with two engaging events: a guest lecture on the Salient Features of the Constitution and a debate competition featuring MBBS students from the 2023-24 batch.

Guest Lecture by Mr. Bishnanand Dubey

The celebration commenced with a guest lecture by Mr Bishnanand Dubey, Assistant Professor at the Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Law and Legal Studies. Welcomed by Prof. (Dr.) Prithpal Singh Matreja, Vice Principal of TMMC&RC, Mr Dubey delivered an insightful session highlighting key articles of the Constitution. He emphasised the importance of Fundamental Rights and Duties while discussing the foundational principles that uphold the Indian Constitution.

Debate on Reservation in Higher Education

The second event was a debate on the topic of “Reservation in Higher Education,” during which MBBS students passionately presented their perspectives.

The panel of judges comprised Mr Bishnanand Dubey, Dr Chintu Choudhary (Professor, Department of Community Medicine), Dr Sudhir Singh (Professor, Department of Microbiology), and Dr Jaspreet Kaur (Associate Professor, Department of Physiology).

Winners Announced

After an intense discussion, Chirag Sikri (for the motion) and Anuj Verma (against the motion) were declared the debate competition's winners.

Prof. (Dr.) Prithpal Singh Matreja expressed his gratitude to the students, judges, and organisers for their active participation, which made the event memorable.

The Constitution Day celebration at TMMC&RC provided an opportunity for students and faculty to reflect on the significance of the Indian Constitution and engage in meaningful dialogue on pressing social issues. The event underscored the institution's commitment to holistic education and its dedication to nurturing responsible citizens.
