Guest Lecture on Internet Addiction and Dementia

Department of Psychiatric nursing, Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Nursing, Moradabad organized a guest lecture on the topic "Internet Addiction and Dementia" on 10th January 2020. The Inauguration of the programme was conducted by lamp lighting ceremony by Prof. R. K. Mudgal, Honorable Vice Chancellor, TMU, Dr. Aditya Sharma Jt. Registrar Governance, T.M.U. Mrs. Jasline M Vice Principal, College of Nursing and guest speakers of the function Dr. Prerana Gupta Asso. Prof, Dept. of Psychiatry, TMMC &RC and Dr. Manish Tyagi , Sr. Resident Dept. of Psychiatry , TMMC &RC, TMU Moradabad. The program highlighted the factors of how the severity of mobile usage has become an issue amongst adolescence. Distinguish guest Dr. Aditya Sharma also addressed the function with his valuable thoughts. Further, Chief Guest Prof. R. K. Mudgal shared his insight about the topic and advised to emphasize more on academic activities instead of getting addicted to internet. Guest speaker Dr. Prerana Gupta, also shared some professional advise to the students on the health impacts digital addiction while also letting them know about the preventive measures. Guest Dr. Manish Tyagi, shed light on the disease Dementia with it's causes, patho-physiology, clinical features, developmental stages, diagnostic criteria and its management with informative and attractive images. He imparted in-depth knowledge related to Dementia. At the end of the program, guest speakers were felicitated with a memento by the Chief Guest and Distinguished Guest. The vote of thanks was later given by Mr. Libin, Asso. Prof, Dept. of Psychiatric nursing.
