Guest Lecture on Midwifery Model of Care: Trends and Challenges
A guest lecture on "Midwifery Model of Care: Trends and Challenges" was organized by the Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing Department, College of Nursing, Teerthanker Mahaveer University on 20th February, 2020 at 10:30 am to 1:30 pm in the university auditorium.
The guest lecture began with the inauguration ceremony. The inaugural ceremony was witnessed by the Chief Guest Dr. Vaishali Dhingra Joint Registrar (R&D), Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Prof. Jasline, Vice Principal, Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Nursing, Guest Speaker, Dr. Lekha Viswanath, Himalayan College of Nursing, Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun, Uttarakand, by lighting the lamp with the prayer song sung by M.Sc. Nursing 1st year students, TMCON.
Welcome speech was addressed by Mrs. Sarojlata, Associate Professor, OBG Nursing department, TMCON and floral bouquet was presented to the Chief Guest, Vice Principal, and to the eminent speaker.
Inaugural speech was given by Prof. Jasline, Vice Principal, Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Nursing. In which she emphasized how the Midwifery model of care makes a change in current challenges faced in maternity care and mainly practicing it will reduces the maternal mortality and morbidity.
Chief Guest address was given by Dr. Vaishali Dhingra, Joint Registrar (R&D), Teerthanker Mahaveer University, about the importance of Midwives in caring women during pregnancy, intra partum and post partum, also emphasized that the role of midwifery care will be more than the doctors role directly with the women when on perinatal period and told about the new schemes related to maternal health by which how the midwives role?? involved and also she appreciated for choosing this topic Midwifery Model of Care.
Then the session was started by eminent speaker, Dr. Lekha Viswanath, Himalayan College of Nursing, Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun, Uttarakand on the topic of Midwifery Model of care: Trends and Challenges.
Momentum was presented to the guest speaker by the Chief guest Dr. Vaishali Dhingra Joint Registrar (R&D), Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Prof. Jasline, Vice Principal, Teerthanker Mahaveer College of Nursing.
The participants of the program were approximately 450 students and they were the students of B.Sc. Nursing I, II, III, IV?? year, GNM I, II, IIIrd year, ANM I, IInd year, P.B.B.Sc. Nursing Ist year, M.Sc. Nursing Ist year and IInd year, College Of Nursing, Teerthanker Mahaveer University. The program was ended at 1:30 pm successfully by the vote of thanks given by Mrs. Hemalatha, Assistant Professor, HOD of OBG Nursing department, College of Nursing, Teerthanker Mahaveer University.
