TMU, NSS Conducts Orientation Program for First Year Students
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit along with the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) and TIMIT college of TMU conducted an Orientation Program for the newly joined students (2021-22 batch). As many as 232 freshers participated in the program. The program was organised in the University auditorium. Volunteer Secretaries and other senior volunteers introduced the objectives of NSS to the new set of volunteers and then they shared their memorable experiences in NSS. Senior volunteers presented major activities of TMU NSS units during the last few years. New volunteers were also given the opportunity for sharing their past experiences related to NSS that they had during their school days. NSS programme officers also addressed the participants and encouraged them to actively participate in the activities of NSS.
Prof. Vipin Jain, Principal, TMIMT College of Management, informed students about the role and future scope of NSS. He said, ?The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides an opportunity to the student youth at colleges and University levels of India to take part in various government led community service activities &programmes. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service?. Therefore, serve the nation with utmost loyalty, added Prof. Jain.
