Paramedical College organized a Guest Lecture on HPV Vaccine
Teerthanker Mahaveer University organised a guest lecture on the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, titled Innovation in HPV: A Boon for Humanity. This enlightening event was conducted by the Institution Innovation Cell and hosted by one of the best paramedical colleges in India, College of Paramedical Sciences at TMU.
Event Details
On the 3rd of November 2023, the University played host to a comprehensive discussion on the significance of the HPV vaccine. The event was spearheaded by the College of Paramedical Sciences, TMU, with coordination led by Mrs. Archana Jain, the Cultural Co-coordinator of the college. The moderator for the programme was Prof. (Dr) Navneet Kumar, the Vice Principal of the College, Dr Manpreet Kaur, Professor & HOD- Obstetrics and Gynaecology at TMMC&RC, took the stage as the distinguished speaker.
Opening Ceremony
The session commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising the illumination of knowledge, with Dr Manpreet leading the ritual. Prof. (Dr) Navneet Kumar welcomed the guest lecturer with a bouquet, setting a warm tone for the lecture.
Lecture Highlights
Dr Manpreet Kaur initiated her lecture by shedding light on the various variants of HPV, discussing the prevalence of the virus globally and in India. She provided invaluable insights into HPV vaccination, covering crucial details such as pricing, recommended doses, and the optimum age for vaccination.
Audience Engagement
To gauge the impact of the lecture, a pre and post-lecture questionnaire assessment was conducted. Students and faculty members expressed keen interest in understanding and potentially receiving the HPV vaccination.
