Pharmacy Week 2024: Highlights and Winners of Exciting Sports Events

Pharmacy Week 2024 has successfully concluded, marking four days of exhilarating sports competitions and team spirit on campus. From 23rd to 26th October 2024, students and faculty gathered to participate and cheer for a diverse lineup of events, including Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Carom, Chess, 100m Race, Badminton, and Tug of War. The event fostered unity, sportsmanship, and lively camaraderie among participants from various departments.

Event Overview and Participation

Organised annually as part of Pharmacy Week, this year’s sports events witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 60 individuals, including DPharm, BPharm and Pharm.D students and faculty members. Coordinated by Dr Deepak Singh, Dr Rajesh Sharma and Dr Mithul the events took place across indoor and outdoor stadiums, showcasing the talents of students in both team and individual sports.

Each day brought an array of matches, with spirited competitions and thrilling showdowns:

  • 23rd October: The week started with Cricket, Carom, and Chess matches, drawing in large audiences.
  • 24th October: Volleyball, Tug of War, and Badminton took centre stage, bringing intense matches.
  • 25th October: Basketball and 100m Race kept the energy high, with close finishes and standout performances.
  • 26th October: Finals for key events were held, with an electrifying closing ceremony to wrap up the week.

Memorable Moments and Winners

The Pharmacy Week sports events saw impressive performances, with each game producing a remarkable level of competition. Some standout moments included:

  • Cricket Finals: The BPharm final year team clinched victory in a nail-biting match
  • 100m Race: Fastest time recorded by a BPharm student, setting a new campus record.
  • Chess Tournament: A close battle of strategies with the winner emerging from the teacher’s team.

Each sport concluded with an awards ceremony recognising the exceptional skills and commitment of winners across categories.

Guest Appearance and Valedictory Ceremony

The event was graced by a Chief Guest, as recommended by the Principal, who congratulated participants for their dedication and spirited participation. Their motivational speech resonated with the students and faculty, inspiring everyone to pursue excellence in both academic and extracurricular pursuits.

Venue and Organiser Remarks

Held in the indoor and outdoor stadiums on campus, Pharmacy Week sports events were a major success. Dr. Deepak Singh, the Sports Coordinator, praised the participants and organisers, acknowledging the collective effort in making this event memorable. Dr. Singh added, “The enthusiasm and teamwork displayed by our students were truly commendable, and this event has certainly uplifted the spirit of our Pharmacy Week celebrations.”
