Road Safety Month 2021 Celebration at TMMC&RC.
Teerthanker Mahaveer University Moradabad and its subsidiaries are apt to involve the guidelines that the government bodies & associations always share to enhance the students' qualitative progress.
One such initiative that TMU's medical college took was to celebrate Road Safety Month from mid-January to mid-February 2021.
Principal Prof (Dr.) Shyamoli Dutta TMMC&RC stated why road safety was essential. According to statistics and as an experienced medical practitioner, she shared, 'People get badly injured or even lose their lives due to road accidents; hence budding doctors must shoulder the responsibility to bring awareness regarding it.
The college took up a series of events for the same. A lecture on Road Safety by Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Kumar of the Department of Pathology focused on various aspects and problems related to road safety. He highlighted some vital dos and don'ts for vehicles on the road too.
A poster competition on the 'Road Safety' theme was set for the MBBS students of Batch 2019. It was a group activity with each group of ten students participating in it.
Student's participation in extracurricular and social work platforms is considered equally important at Teerthanker Mahaveer University Moradabad, given its philosophy to nurture good humans and not just professionals. The poster competition was judged by Prof (Dr.) S Dutta – Principal TMMC&RC; Prof (Dr.) S K Jain, Vice Principal, and Prof & Head, Dept. of Anatomy; Prof (Dr.) Prithpal Singh Matreja, Prof & Head, Dept. of Pharmacology and Prof (Dr. ) Ashutosh Kumar, Department of Pathology.
The event became an eye-opener for many, adding to the hope that the country's death rate due to accidents would dwindle at the very least.
