Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) recently hosted an essential training session focused on Basic Life Support (BLS) in collaboration with Medanta Medacity, Gurugram. Dr. Shasia Mattu, Associate Professor of the Department of Physiotherapy, led the event intending to impart vital lifesaving skills to attendees from various academic backgrounds.

Under the expert guidance of Ms. Joynika Singh, an ITC instructor from Medanta Hospital's Training and Education Department, attendees were introduced to essential Basic Life Support (BLS) procedures. The comprehensive session covered a range of crucial techniques, including CPR for adults, children, infants, and pregnant women, the application of pocket masks and Ambu bags, and the utilisation and operation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Additionally, participants learned how to effectively handle choking incidents in both responsive and nonresponsive patients, as well as provide respiratory support for adults and infants during respiratory attacks.

The workshop provided hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge crucial for handling emergencies. Participants emerged better equipped to respond to cardiac arrests, choking incidents, and respiratory distress.
