TMDC&RC Voters Day
Teerthanker Mahaveer Dental College & Research Centre conducted a sensitization program on Rashtriya Matdata Diwas, which is observed on 25 January every year.
On this day, all the students from BDS first year to the fourth year were made aware of their constitutional rights, mainly highlighting their voting rights and the duties that it accompanies with the right to vote.
Voting right that gives individuals the right to decide the government for themselves and their country is a crucial decision and should be carried out by thinking of the benefits it could bring for the masses and not for personal gains. Democracy is a form of government where voting is a weapon provided to the citizens to obtain the desired change in the system. Hence the responsibility of the voters increases a lot.
Teerthanker Mahaveer University believes in shaping individuals as responsible professionals & citizens. Organizing this program is one of the necessary steps of making them aware of their role and responsibility as citizens.
The importance of the right to vote was emphasized by Principal Prof (Dr) Manish Goyal in his address.
An oath-taking ceremony was also conducted; all the students and staff members from teaching & non-teaching staff participated in it. The oath sensitized the participants about their voting rights as per the constitution of India and how their votes can act as changemakers.
