TMU Inter-School Girls Cricket Championship

In a bid to promote women's participation in sports, TMIMT College of Physical Education recently inaugurated the TMU Inter-School Girls Cricket Tournament on December 7, 2023. The championship was organised by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, the best private university in UP. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 16 teams, bringing together young talents from various schools and colleges.

Distinguished Guests

The event was graced by the university Registrar Dr. Aditya Sharma, and the College Principal Prof Manu Mishra. Dr. Aditya Sharma extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and honoured Dr. Tyag with a shawl. The event's chief guest, Dr. Madhuwala Tyagi, Principal Rajkala PD Girls Inter College, emphasised the importance of sportsmanship among women players. She encouraged participants to focus on their individual growth, stressing that success comes through hard work both in sports and life.

Tournament Highlights

The tournament showcased fierce competition, with noteworthy matches like S.B.S. Bilasi vs Green Meadows Moradabad. Green Meadows emerged victorious, winning by 36 runs.

Lovi from Green Meadows School scored an impressive 39 runs, leading her team to victory. Harman from the opposing team showcased exceptional skills, securing 33 runs with 5 fours and 1 six in 21 balls.

Acknowledgements and Words of Encouragement

Acknowledging the significant role of coaches, all coaches were honoured with shawls during the ceremony. Dr. Tyag appreciated the dedication of the coaches, highlighting the participation of 16 teams in the tournament.

Dr. Vipin Jain, the chief warden, emphasised the essence of sports, where victories and defeats are part of the game. He extended best wishes to both the winning and runner teams, recognising the connection between sports and academics. Dr. Manjula Jain encouraged players to work hard on and off the field, emphasising that success is achieved through dedication and effort. Trophy Presentation and Closing

The TMU-Inter School Girls Cricket Championship concluded with a grand closing ceremony. Dean Academic Dr. Manjula Jain and Joint Registrar PhD Cell Dr. Jyoti Puri were present as chief guests. The final match witnessed intense competition among the 16 participating teams. During the closing ceremony, trophies were awarded to both the runner-up and winning teams. Medals and certificates were presented to all players, recognising their commitment to the sport.
