Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) successfully organised the 11th session of its esteemed Leadership Talk Series, focusing on the theme "Transformative Ideas to Impact: Innovation, Design, and Workplace Entrepreneurship." This session aimed to introduce students to creative thinking, problem-solving, and the core principles of entrepreneurship. Held in the university auditorium, the event witnessed a significant turnout, particularly from engineering students.

Inaugural Address by Prof. Manjula Jain

The session commenced with an inspiring inaugural address by Prof. Manjula Jain, Dean of Academics at TMU. She emphasised the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in today's competitive era. Highlighting that academic knowledge alone is insufficient, she urged students to embrace practical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and innovative approaches. Prof. Jain appreciated TMU’s initiative in fostering dialogue between industry experts and academia, facilitating a platform for holistic student development.

Keynote Address by Shri Avinash Mishra

The keynote speaker for the session was Shri Avinash Mishra, National President of the Quality Circle Forum of India. With a distinguished career spanning 38 years, Shri Mishra is a reputed name in the industry. He has served as the HR/IR Head (India & SAARC) at Godrej Consumer Products Limited and is an expert in human resource management, industrial relations, and economics.

Under his leadership, Godrej has won multiple prestigious awards, including the Best Managed Workforce Award, QumPro Award, Japan’s TPM Award, and the Great Place to Work Award. In 2024, Godrej Group’s Executive Chairperson, Nisaba Godrej, recognised him for his outstanding contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Insights on Innovation and Design Thinking

In his thought-provoking address, Shri Avinash Mishra elaborated on the significance of innovation, design thinking, and entrepreneurship. He guided students on transforming ideas into reality through practical solutions, user-centric designs, and innovative approaches. Drawing from his vast experience, he explained how the right strategies and perspectives could enable students to turn their ideas into successful business and social projects.

The session also introduced students to the fundamentals of design thinking, helping them develop a structured approach to solving complex problems. Furthermore, he provided valuable insights into essential professional skills such as leadership, teamwork, and adaptability, which are crucial for success in the business world. Shri Mishra also highlighted his contributions to academia, including his advisory roles at Amity University, Jiwaji University, IITM Gwalior, Vikrant University, and IIIT Chennai.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students actively engaged with the expert, seeking practical guidance for their entrepreneurial aspirations. This enlightening session not only enhanced students’ knowledge but also inspired them to build their careers innovatively.
