TMU’s Department of Orthopaedics conducts a Workshop about Bone Tumors.

Department of Orthopaedics, Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College & Research Centre, TMU, conducted a seminar cum workshop on 24th March 2021 on Bone tumors.

A bone tumor is a condition where an uncontrolled mass of cells keeps growing inside a bone that is in most cases non-cancerous or benign. The primary cause for the bone tumors is unknown. As Teerthanker Mahaveer Multisuper Specialty Hospital and Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College and Research Centre have department of Orthopaedics, a workshop for the faculty and resident doctors was organized on the topic.

Dr. Vivek Verma, Head Musculoskeletal oncology unit workshop at Max Institute of Cancer Care, Patparganj (Delhi/NCR) & Vaishali (Ghaziabad), headlined the session.

TMU, Moradabad is immensely popular for its medical services made available through TMU hospital and hold the key to its success through such regular training and development of its staff.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Ajay Pant (Medical Superintendent, TMMH&RC), Dr. Amit Saraf (Prof. & Head, Department of Orthopaedics), other faculty members & resident doctors. It started with a three-hour interactive session on Bone Tumours followed by a workshop on 'How to take a Bone Biopsy.

The workshop proved to be very informative and interactive as the hands-on training for the biopsy made everyone implement the knowledge attained. The department of Orthopaedics was grateful for such an enlightening session.

Given this workshop's success, the hospital will be conducting more such workshops monthly to be in sync with the growing modifications of the global practices and information.
