Webinar Held on World Environment Day
Department of Civil Engineering organized a one-day technical webinar on World Environment Day for the awareness of the students of B.Tech Civil IV, III & II years successfully via zoom app platform on 05/06/2020.
The webinar started with the welcome speech of Dr. Ravi Jain (Prof. & HoD, Civil Engg.) in which he welcomed the keynote speaker of the webinar Dr. Ginish R. Pophali, Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR-NEERI and Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Dwivedi, Principal, FOE&CCSIT, TMU, Moradabad.
He told India is the only country where the earth is called mother, so we have the highest responsibility to save the planet from pollution. The webinar was presided over by Dr. Ravi Jain (Prof. & HoD, Civil Engg.) in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) S.R. Ali, Mr. A.K. Pipersania, Mr. Ankit Kumar Sharma, Mr. Siddharth Mathur, Dr. Shekhar Saxena, Mr. Amit Kumar, Ms. Nisha Sehal, and the students.
This webinar provided the student's opportunity to know about environmental issues and their responsibilities to solve these issues.
After the guests' welcome, an expert discussion happened with keynote speaker Dr. Pophali on the awareness regarding environmental issues. He shared his knowledge and experience with the students. He inspired the students with his speech. In his remarks, he stated no degree is essential to save the environment; instead, environmental protection has to be part of our way of life; only then protecting and promoting the environment can be done.
He advised the students to work more and more in alternative energy, waste management, sustainable development, sewage treatment, and the prevention of toxic gas emissions to avoid pollution of the environment.
Overall the seminar was technically excellent, thereby receiving massive coverage in almost all of the daily newspapers of Hindi & Urdu, etc.
In the end, the program coordinator, Mr. Ankit Kumar Sharma, delivered a vote of thanks to everyone.
