White Coat Ceremony 2023
The white coat ceremony for the MBBS Admission Batch 2022-23, was held in the Auditorium of Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) on 22nd February, 2023. The purpose of having the white coat ceremony was to adorn the white coat (Apron) to the newly admitted batch (Batch 2022-23) and formally induct these undergraduate students in the medical fraternity and also to help them realize the importance of the white coat.
The Chief Guest for the day was Honorable Shri Aunjaneya Kumar Singh, IAS (Commissioner, Moradabad Division), the other dignitaries included Honorable Chancellor of TMU, Shri Suresh Jain Ji; Honorable Group Vice Chairman of TMU, Shri Manish Jain Ji. The event was also marked with the presence of Director (Administration) – Shri Abhishek Kapoor, Principal of TMMRC – Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Pant, Vice Principal of TMMCRC – Dr. S.K. Jain, Medical Superintendent - Prof. (Dr.) Vishwanayak, Additional MS – Prof. (Dr.) V.K. Singh, Shri Vipan Jain, Shri Ajay Garg, Coordinator MEU – Prof (Dr.) Prithpal Singh Matreja, Prof & HOD of Department of Pathology – Prof (Dr.) Seema Awasthi, Members of Medical Education Unit and Professor’s & Associate Professors of TMMCRC.
The event was also attended by the faculty of Medical College and Hospital. The MBBS students of First year and Final year also attended the event. The anchoring of the event was done by Dr. Supriti Bhatnagar (Anatomy Department), along with Shivam Sirohi (Batch 2019) and Nandini Das (Batch 2019). The event began with presenting a token of love to the dignitaries on the podium, followed by Saraswati vandana.
The introduction of event and dignitaries was done by Dr. Supriti Bhatanagar who also highlighted the role of the ceremony which included inducting the students into the medical fraternity. Prof Ajay Pant emphasized that white coat also carries a sense of moral duty and obligation to the profession as well as society. Honorable Chancellor of TMU, Shri Suresh Jain Ji – highlighted the fact that TMU was one of the best private medical college in the northern, eastern and western region of India, and addressed students that we would put in all our effort to give back professional and competent doctors, he also emphasized that determination is the key for winning moments. The Chief guest of the Event Shri Aunjaneya Kumar Singh, highlighted that serving the human society is the biggest religion for a doctor (he/she is considered next to god, he also emphasized that humanity should have the highest priority.
The Ceremony was followed by adorning the white coat to the first year batch by the dignitaries as well as faculty of TMMCRC, followed by their brief introduction. This was followed by a cultural event organized by students of TMMC&RC. The event concluded with the National Anthem and Vote of Thanks by Dr. Prithpal S Matreja. The importance of this ceremony was to inculcate a positive energy into the students, to keep them motivated so that they grow up into responsible citizens of the country. The responsibility owed by them is not only to their profession, but also to their family, relatives and society at large.
