WHO Antibiotic Awareness Week 2024 Celebration at TMMC&RC
Teerthanker Mahaveer Medical College & Research Centre, Moradabad, marked the WHO Antibiotic Awareness Week from 18th to 24th November 2024 with a poster-making competition.
The event, aimed at promoting antimicrobial stewardship and rational use of antibiotics, resonated with the global theme, "Spread Awareness, Stop Resistance". A total of 152 MBBS students from the 2023-24 batch enthusiastically participated, divided into 15 groups.
The competition, organised by the Department of Pharmacology, allowed participants two weeks to prepare their posters. The judging panel included prominent faculty members, including:
- Prof. (Dr.) Prithpal Singh Matreja (Vice Principal and Head of the Department of Pharmacology)
- Prof. (Dr.) Shilpa Patrick, Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Singh.
The judges praised the students for their creativity and dedication, with each poster effectively reflecting the theme.

World Antibiotic Awareness Week is an initiative by the WHO to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a critical global health challenge. Events like these emphasise the importance of proper antibiotic use and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals to take active roles in promoting public health.
