The College of Nursing at Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), in collaboration with the Alumni Relations Cell, organised an inspiring alumni session on the theme “Building a Successful Nursing Career”. The event aimed to enlighten nursing students about diverse career opportunities, particularly in the government sector, while offering practical guidance to achieve success.

Alumni Inspiration: From TMU to AIIMS Rishikesh

The programme commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, graced by Ms. Parul, a distinguished alumna of TMU’s College of Nursing and currently serving as a Nursing Officer at AIIMS Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

Sharing her journey, Ms. Parul elaborated on the preparation strategy for the NORCET (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test), the selection process, and the benefits of securing a government position. She revealed that she cleared the exam without any coaching, relying solely on classroom notes, standard reference books, and encouragement from her teachers.

She encouraged students to maintain regular preparation, a clear career plan, and unwavering self-confidence as key elements for success.

Empowering the Next Generation of Nurses

Other dignitaries present also motivated students to stay dedicated to their goals and seize the available opportunities in the nursing profession. A total of 93 students from Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (First Year) and ANM (Second Year) participated enthusiastically in the session.

The presence of faculty members and Alumni Cell representatives further enriched the event.
