Revered Jain Monks Grace TMU Sant Bhavan; Students Embrace Spiritual Discipline
Moradabad, May 2025 — Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) is experiencing an atmosphere of profound spirituality and religious devotion as Muni Shri 108 Sahaj Sagar Ji, the Sanghath Pravartak of Acharya Shri Prasannasagar Ji Maharaj, along with Muni Shri 108 Navpadmasagar Ji, has taken spiritual residence at the university’s Sant Bhavan.
Their presence has infused the campus with serenity, devotion, and a deeper understanding of Jain philosophy, attracting enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and devotees alike.
Students Serve with Faith: Aahar Charya and Spiritual Resolutions
As part of the daily aahar charya (monk meal offering ritual), the honour of performing the paadgrahan (ritual foot-washing) was bestowed upon the Teerthanker Mahaveer Jinalaya family. In a remarkable show of devotion, 70 to 80 students offered aahar (meals) to Muni Shri and the entire Jain Sangh with navadha bhakti (nine-fold devotion).
What made the moment even more spiritually significant was that the participating students pledged to observe two-month vows, committing to:
- Abstaining from night meals
- Avoiding the consumption of onions and potatoes
This sincere step towards ascetic living and ethical eating was noted as an inspiring and praiseworthy gesture, reflecting the moral strength and spiritual inclination among the youth of TMU.
Daily Religious Discourses and Rituals at TMU
Since the revered Jain monks have arrived, TMU has been conducting daily religious activities, including:
- Morning Abhishek and Shanti Dhara rituals
- Spiritual discourses (pravachans) by Muni Shri 108 Sahaj Sagar Ji Maharaj
- Evening Acharya Bhakti sessions
- Community aarti and prayers
