Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) recently witnessed a remarkable literary evening that brought literature, governance, and society onto a shared platform. The event featured acclaimed Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer and renowned author Mrs. Anju Ranjan, who delivered a compelling reading from her acclaimed short story collection, ‘Sheetal Dhoop’.

Held at TMU's auditorium, the event was more than just a gathering—it became a vibrant forum for sensitive reflections and progressive narratives on women's empowerment. Through her evocative storytelling, Mrs. Ranjan shed light on the struggles, resilience, and triumphs of women in contemporary society.

Esteemed Dignitaries Grace the Occasion

The programme was presided over by TMU Chancellor Shri Suresh Jain. Chief Guests included:

In his address, Commissioner Shri Anjaney Kumar Singh highlighted the importance of India's cultural heritage and encouraged the youth to read legends such as Munshi Premchand, Shrilal Shukla, and Dharamvir Bharati.

Principal Secretary Shri Ranjan Kumar lauded the literary works of Anju Ranjan for their emotive portrayal of female resilience and empowerment, calling them an inspiration for society and a medium for positive change.

Future Literary Initiatives at TMU

Chancellor Shri Suresh Jain appreciated the author’s creative efforts and invited her to lead a two-day literary workshop at TMU shortly. He also extended his gratitude to the State Bank of India (SBI), the co-organiser of the event, and acknowledged the presence of all distinguished guests.

TMU Vice Chancellor Prof. V.K. Jain highlighted the university’s contributions in Indian knowledge systems, yoga, AYUSH, and ongoing research in traditional sciences.
