Evidence-Based Sensory Integration Therapy Session Organised at TMU
The Department of Physiotherapy at Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU), Moradabad, organised an enriching alumni session on 9th April 2025, titled "Evidence-Based Practice in Sensory Integration Therapy". Held at Lecture Theatre LT-603, Nursing Building, the event commenced at 02:00 PM onwards under the coordination of Mr. Nand Kishor Sah, Assistant Professor, Department of Physiotherapy.
The session welcomed a distinguished gathering, including Dr. Nikhil Rastogi, Joint Registrar (ARC); Dr. Shivanee M. Kaul, Head of Department; faculty members Ms. Himani, Ms. Priya Sharma, and Ms. Minal Chaudhary (Assistant Professors); alongside students from BPT 4th Year and MPT programmes.
Purpose of the Workshop
The primary objective of the session was to impart knowledge and practical exposure in individualised, evidence-based sensory integration therapy. This approach is instrumental in enhancing sensory processing, fostering functional development, and promoting active participation in everyday activities, especially among paediatric patients.

Session Highlights and Expert Demonstration
The session commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising the dissemination of knowledge. It was followed by the introduction of the session's keynote speaker, Dr. Vivek Yadav, an esteemed alumnus and expert in sensory integration therapy.
Dr. Yadav offered an insightful presentation on the theoretical foundations of sensory integration therapy, outlining the principles and clinical relevance of evidence-based practices in physiotherapy. A notable highlight of the event was the live demonstration, wherein Dr. Yadav showcased real-time therapeutic techniques tailored for paediatric patients. This interactive component significantly enriched the learning experience for attending students and faculty members alike.
Felicitations and Conclusion
As a gesture of appreciation, a memento was presented to Dr. Yadav by Dr. Shivanee M. Kaul and Dr. Nikhil Rastogi. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Kaul, acknowledging the speaker's contributions and the enthusiastic participation of the attendees.
