Team Clara Emerges Victorious in TMU’s Internal Hackathon

Moradabad, April 2025 — The College of Computing Sciences and Information Technology (CCSIT) at Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) recently concluded its highly successful two-day Internal Hackathon, organised by the MCA Department under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Rakesh Kumar Dwivedi, Dean, Faculty of Engineering (FOE), and Dr. Shambhu Bhardwaj, Head of CCSIT.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 49 teams, comprising students from various technical disciplines. It aimed to promote innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving through real-world technology solutions.

Winners and Innovations

After rigorous competition, Team Clara from B.Tech–IBM and B.Tech–AI secured first place for their impressive AI-based exam preparation hack. The second position was bagged by Team Clanks from BCA, who presented a solution on elderly fall detection, while Team Binary Beast from B.Tech–CSE claimed third place for their project on an AI voice assistant and home automation system.

Out of 49 participating teams, 14 teams advanced to the final round, where their projects were evaluated across eight key criteria, including innovation, feasibility, user impact, and technical execution.

Judging Panel and Coordination

The hackathon featured an esteemed panel of judges, including Prof. Pradeep Kumar, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Gulista Khan, and several other experts from the field of computer science and engineering, who brought their deep academic and industry insights to the evaluation process.

Student Leadership and Acknowledgements

At the closing ceremony, Internal Hackathon Coordinator Mr. Vikas Deshwal extended heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, mentors, and organisers for making the event a success.

Special recognition was given to student coordinators from MCA first year — Yash Jain, Arihant Jain, Vatsal Negi, Aryan Jain, and Twinkle Jain — for their commendable efforts. The event’s smooth execution was also made possible by a team of dedicated student volunteers, including Kanishka Jain, Sonu Saini, Nancy Srivastava, Harshit Bisht, Aditya Kataria, Aditya Jain, and Sanyam Chaudhary.

The hackathon proved to be a vibrant platform for students to apply their knowledge in innovative ways while also gaining invaluable exposure to team dynamics and real-world problem solving. TMU continues to foster such initiatives to build the next generation of tech innovators and entrepreneurs.
