TMU Medical College Pays Tribute to Pahalgam Attack Martyrs with Candle March
Pahalgam Attack Tribute, Moradabad, April 2025 — In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, the Medical College of Teerthanker Mahaveer University (TMU) organised a peaceful candle march to pay heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The event began with a solemn candle-lighting ceremony by the students, followed by a two-minute silence to express heartfelt condolences and respect for the martyrs. The emotionally charged atmosphere reflected the students’ deep sense of national pride and grief.
300 Students Stand United in Tribute
Approximately 300 students from TMU’s Medical College participated in the candle march, holding candles in their hands as they remembered the supreme sacrifice made by the soldiers. The event took place in the presence of Dr. N.K. Singh, Principal of the Medical College, and Dr. Prithpal Singh Matreja, Vice Principal. Both dignitaries strongly condemned the attack and lauded the students for standing together to honour the martyrs.
Dr. Singh remarked, "This march is a symbol of our nation’s unity, integrity, and unwavering respect for the bravehearts who laid down their lives in the line of duty."
Emotional Speeches and National Sentiment
A significant contribution to the programme came from the third-year medical students, who delivered emotionally stirring speeches paying homage to the martyrs and reigniting a sense of nationalism. Their words echoed the importance of unity, courage, and civic responsibility among the youth.
The event not only highlighted the patriotic spirit of TMU’s students but also sent a clear message — these future doctors are equally devoted to the service of their nation. As responsible citizens in the making, they stand in solidarity with the armed forces and strive to uphold the values of sacrifice and national pride.
