The MD (Doctor of Medicine) in Anatomy is a three-year non-clinical postgraduate programme offered by the Medical College & Research Centre at Teerthanker Mahaveer University. This programme provides a detailed and structured study of the human body’s anatomy, which forms the cornerstone of all clinical and surgical specialities in medicine. The curriculum combines in-depth theoretical learning with extensive hands-on practical sessions, including cadaveric dissection, histological analysis, anatomical modelling, and radiological interpretation. Key subjects covered include Gross and Regional Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Embryology, Histology, Genetics, Applied Anatomy, and Comparative Anatomy. Students also gain exposure to techniques such as staining, microscopy, and the study of physical anthropology. The course develops a strong foundation in understanding normal and variant human anatomy, critical for effective clinical correlation and research. Graduates of the programme are well-suited for academic roles in medical colleges, research in biomedical and forensic sciences, and advisory positions in anatomical sciences. Eligibility for the programme requires an MBBS degree from a recognised university approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any State Medical Council.
