About MD (Doctor of Medicine) in Physiology

MD (Doctor of Medicine) in Physiology is a three-year non-clinical postgraduate programme that focuses on the study of normal biological functions of the human body. This foundational discipline forms the basis for understanding pathological conditions and plays a critical role in the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic methods through translational research.

The programme offers an in-depth understanding of systems such as cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, endocrine, renal, and musculoskeletal, among others. Emphasis is placed on the integration of theoretical concepts with practical laboratory skills to foster a deep understanding of how the human body functions under both normal and abnormal conditions.

Eligibility: MBBS degree holders from a university recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any State Medical Council are eligible to apply.

Graduates can pursue careers in teaching, academic research, and can contribute to departments such as neurophysiology, pharmacology, cell biology, and biochemistry.
