Standard Operating Procedure for Ph.D. PROGRAMME

  1. Apply for TRAT by paying Re. 2000 as application fee (Jainology exempted)
  2. 2 stage Process-
    • Written Exam (70%)
    • Interview (30%)
  3. Appear for written test (2" Sat of July/Jan) and result to be declared within 04 days.
  4. Appear for interview/viva voce within 03 days of the written test result declaration, including the candidates exempted from TRAT
  5. TRAT result declared on the website of the university within 03 days from the date of interview/viva voce conducted.
  6. Offer of admission sent to the successful candidates, within 03 days from the date of declaration of the result, by the University.
  7. Candidates pay the registration fee within 12 days from the date of receiving the Offer Letter.
  8. Notification by the respective CRAC to the registered candidates (now called Research Scholars) to attend the 1st CRAC Meeting.
  9. First CRAC Meeting: Allocation of Supervisor based on the area of interest of the research supervisor, Constitution of RAC & Recommendation of the Course Work and Additional Courses any - Annexure C, C1, C2, C3, C3.1
    • Research Scholar start preparing research Work Plan and Synopsis/ Research Proposal in consultation with RAC.
    • Notification by the University about the commencement & schedule of Course Work.
  10. Research Scholars attend the prescribed course work classes. 75% minimum attendance requirement.
  11. Course Work Exams as notified by the University (June/December)
  12. Notification for 1st RAC Meeting at least two weeks before the 2nd CRAC Meeting for the 1st Semester Progress Report (SPR). Research Scholar to submit his/her complete research work plan (Gantt Chart) for the Annexure D
  13. Recommendations of the CRAC on the duly completed SPR of each research scholars along with MOM, (Annexure G) will be sent to the Ph.D Cell within 3 days from the date of conducting CRAC Meeting.
  14. Notify to attend 2nd RAC meeting two weeks before the 3rd CRAC Meeting for 2nd SPR.
  15. Notify to attend 3rd RAC meeting two weeks before the 4th CRAC Meeting for 3rd SPR to finalize and submit the Research Plan/Synopsis with working title.
  16. Notify to attend 4rd RAC meeting two weeks before the 5th CRAC Meeting for 4th SPR.
  17. Notify to attend 5th RAC meeting two weeks before the 6th CRAC Meeting for 5th SPR & counsel the research scholar to make pre-thesis submission presentation after having completed 30 months from the date of registration.
  18. If approved, the thesis be readied and submitted for its evaluation only after completing 32 months from date of registration but before completing 36 months. The CRAC to submit the list of panel of examiners for approval as soon as the pre thesis submission presentation is approved.
  19. If not approved then CRAC may provide second chance and in case needed 3rd chance may be granted by the Vice Chancellor.
  20. However, if the research scholar performs unsatisfactorily in the 3rd attempt his/her registration shall deem to be cancelled.
  21. The submitted thesis be sent to the approved examiners for evaluation within 02 weeks of the submission of thesis.
  22. If the examiners' report is favorable conduct the ODE & the research scholar defends his/her work.
  23. If the report of the external evaluation of thesis is unfavorable then make necessary corrections & then conduct ODE. ODE be conducted within 03 weeks of receiving both reports favorably.
  24. If the ODE report is positive, conduct the RDC for award of degree.
    • Letter by the University for Award of Ph.D. Degree.
    • Call for attending the Convocation.
